The Hong Kong Monetary Authority ("HKMA") is committed to advancing green and sustainable finance and supporting banks in managing climate-related risks. As technology plays an increasingly critical role in addressing climate change, it is important for financial institutions to understand and harness innovative green solutions to strengthen their climate risk management capabilities.
The 2026 Green Fintech Symposium (the "Symposium") serves as a platform for industry participants to exchange insights, share experience, and explore emerging developments through thought-provoking panel discussions and presentations. It will also showcase green fintech solutions with a focus on home grown innovation on the global stage, highlighting the depth of innovation emerging from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland and fostering greater cross-sector collaboration in technology and finance.
Under the theme Smarter Finance for a Greener Transition, the Symposium underscores the importance of promoting smarter finance enabled by advanced technologies that support more informed, efficient and impactful decision-making. It also reflects the HKMA's vision of accelerating the adoption of green fintech across the ecosystem to facilitate the low-carbon transition and foster sustainable growth in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and beyond.
Showcasing Home-grown
Green Fintech Solutions
Discover breakthrough green fintech at the 2026 Green Fintech Symposium. As part of the HKMA's efforts to advance green fintech, the Symposium will feature a dedicated Solution Showcase spotlighting outstanding firms from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Through live on-stage presentations and exhibition booths, participants can explore innovative solutions addressing key challenges in ESG data, carbon markets, climate risk management, ESG disclosure, and sustainable finance.
With a special focus on home-grown innovations, the Solution Showcase will highlight the strength and diversity of green fintech solutions emerging from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Participating green fintech firms have been selected through a rigourous screening process conducted by the supporting organisations.
Format
The Symposium will be held in a hybrid format, allowing attendees to participate either in-person or online. As seating for in-person attendance is limited, tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-served and discretionary basis. Registrants who are not assigned an in-person ticket will be provided with a webcast link to join the Symposium online and follow the panel discussions and presentations virtually.
